Perky-Pet® 336 Squirrel-Be-Gone Wild Bird Feeder
Description
Attracting and feeding birds while keeping the squirrels from reaching the seed. A classic among squirrel proof feeders, this feeder has ports that close under a squirrel's weight, preventing it from raiding the seed supply. The Perky-Petr Squirrel-Be-GoneT wild bird feeder features six feeding ports, U-shaped perches and a 3.4 lb. seed capacity. The feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably but, when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed. The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork. The six perch/feeding station set-up, coupled with the anti-squirrel technology makes this feeder one of the most economical and convenient squirrel proof feeders on the market! Comes fully assembled.Remember to clean your squirrel proof feeders once every two weeks with mild soap and water solution.

Hanging Your Bird Feeder:
-
Ideally a sheltered southeastern exposure location is best for hanging a bird feeder since birds like to feed in the sun and out of the wind. Birds also prefer not to have any obstructions over their feeding area so they can see any predators.
-
If this is the first time you have a bird feeder in your yard, you may have to wait several weeks for birds to discover it. It may help if you put a shiny pie pan with some seed in it underneath the bird feeder to attract birds flying through your yard. Black oil sunflower seeds are a favorite among most birds. Water is also a natural attractant.
-
Hang your bird feeder away from trees, bushes, fences or buildings. Squirrels and other predators may climb or jump onto the bird feeder. If you must hang the bird feeder on a tree, keep it at least six feet from the trunk or the tree limbs.
Bird Feeder Care:
-
Keeping your bird feeder clean and full of fresh seed or fresh nectar is very important to the health of visiting birds.
-
It is recommended that you clean your seed bird feeder every two weeks and your hummingbird feeder every week. Clean your bird feeder more often in warmer weather.
-
A mild soap and water solution can be used, however; if the bird feeder needs additional cleaning, you can use diluted vinegar.Be sure to rinse completely. It is not recommended that you put any bird feeder into your dishwasher for cleaning.
